My Years at Sockburn School

My Time At Sockburn School
BY KAYLA

New entrance/:It all started for me with Mrs Marshall and Mrs Ingram. I don’t remember any memories of Mrs Marshall or Mrs Ingram but I guess they were good teachers I was in that class for one years.

Year 1 I was in Room 13 with Mrs Clemens and Miss Green. We had Mrs Clemens but halfway through the Year Mrs Clemens had to go so we just had Miss Green. It was fun in that year  but we had to do alot of work so it was boring but I was only 6 years old.

Year2 I was in room 11 with Mr Crookbain it was fun because he had a good jar and a bad jar of marbles. If we got the good jar full that means we get popcorn and watch a movies. Mr Crookbain had to go back to Canada to get married. That was my year in room 11.

Year 3  was with the cool Mr Kerr! My memories of that year will stick with me forever. Every morning we would have a awesome game of Hit The Deck. After that we read the newspaper to see what was going on in the world (we mostly read sport that took a long time).

Year 4:That year I had Mr kerr but he was having hip surgery and needed to take time off teaching and to recover. He needed a teacher to fill in for him so we had the wonderful Mrs Blue. She was the best that year. The memory of that year was we got to have Kerr credits and when Mrs Blue took photos of Mr Kerr when he was recovering. That was so cool. At some point Mr kerr came back and we had to leave the best Mrs Blue.

Year 5:With the ‘boss’ Mrs Boswell and with the loud  Mr Barrow! It  was a bit crowded but it was a fun year still. My favourite thing of that year was the ‘box of fun’. When we get called out in assemblies we got a toy out of the box of fun. In Maths, Mr Barrow  would let us pick some things out of the box of fun if we won the game. My favourite thing about Mrs Boswell is that  we always have fun no matter what is going on. That year was so amazing.

Year 6:Still with the ‘boss’ Mrs Boswell and the loud Mr Barrow. In term 1 some of the year 6 children got to run for house captain. The children wrote on paper and read it out. I was one of the ones who won with Samuel for Gold House. I was a little bit happy that I won. After that we got told that Mr Barrow was going to be principal. I was a bit sad he left. Term 2, that was the term when the awesome Miss McCormick was teaching with us. That best thing that happened this year is when we always play games at 10:00am  they are always fun for me. That was my lovely last year for me. I'm sad that i'm leaving but I can not stay young forever.

The End
