Health- Sexism in sports:

 Sexism In Sports:

In health we were asked to research something of our choice I choose to do sexism in sports. I also decided to draw a picture representing this.

Heres my research and questions:

When and why does this occur?

People still to this day continue to be sexist when it comes to sport especially towards women and girls. For example at every olympics the decathlon was held ever since 1912 but still to this day only Men can compete. Sexism could happen anytime any place as sad as it is; it is really common in today's era of time. It can also happen to anyone any gender but it is more common for Women and Girls to get insulted/verbally abused. For example champion tennis player Serena Williams was verbally abused about her appearance for literally no reason.

How is Football/Soccer involved with this topic?

In basically every sport sexism is a problem and needs to be stopped. An example of a sport is Football/Soccer which is surprisingly high with sexsim being one of the top sports dealing with it. Even with the amount of hate and sexism football gets in general it's even worse when it comes to the women side of it. In many games a lot of people hate and criticise players just out of frustration which personally is not mature. The football/soccer crowds go mad and crazy at the players. Even if they make a small mistake crowds tend to get aggressive towards the players calling them names and just criticising them. People like to claim football/soccer crowds to be one of the most toxic sports supporters ever but that's only an accusation.

How does gender relate to your topic?

Gender relates to sexim because many people claim it's a men/boys sport and that women/girls shouldn’t play for many reasons like they just ain’t strong enough. When it comes to women football many compare them against men football. People claim that women football teams are useless and not as entertaining. Even when missing a goal by mistake crowds go crazy and start to criticize anything they can whether it be appearance or even skill. Another reason is the pay ratio, many women football teams are now utterly frustrated that men get paid a lot more. They are now trying to get their rights back and sue to the point where they are at equal pay. Because a lot of women athletes are having to have part times jobs just to live comfortably. So gender relates to sexim because a lot of sexim is more towards one gender than the other.  Gender study finds that upto 90% of Men and Women are biased/against women and that is just in general let alone in sports.

What influences people to be sexist in sports?

Many people stereotype and have opinions on sports that may be different to yours. Some reason on why people may be sexist in sports is that they may have been brought up in a way where genuinely boys/men play sports. So they could be brainwashed to think a certain way and that can cause them to criticise women playing which is not right at all. Another reason could be the physical or biological differences between the 2 genders which personally I think is childish, just because they don't have the same physical features doesn’t mean that they can't play or join in. Like there are many and I mean many girl athletes that slay and work just as hard as men and are just incredible at what they do. Even if you aren’t the same doesn’t mean you can do just as good as others for instance with football the U.S women's team do just as good as most of the men football teams. That's just one of many reasons why girls can do just as good or even more than boys/men.

What needs to change?

Personally I think that people just need to generalize sports and make it acceptable to any genders to play. I know sexim and hate is more how people think towards others but I feel as if people should realise everyone is equal to the same rights and that girls can do just as much as guys can and the same goes with men to women. Sexim happens everywhere, an example of this is school and that's my next point. I feel as if teachers should teach kids that girls and boys have the same abilities and that they can both be as good as each other to hopefully decrease sexim from happening to students at young ages. Because a lot of athletes from young ages that experience sexim tend to just give up when they are incredible at what they do. What needs to change is the rules for sports so everyone/gender is equal and no one can get mad that the “boys” rules are more unfair and harsh. I also think they should equal the pay for girls/women because many women athletes are having to work a part time job just to live comfortably. Whereas men athletes sit comfortable with the pay they access.

DTE: Reflection

Dte: Reflection

This term we’ve been working on a big project that involves a digital robot called “Sphero”. Sphero is a bluetooth device that can be controlled when connected to an ipad (sort of like a Remote control race car). With this project we decided to design a spooky maze filled with obstacles for the robot to go through. Some of the obstacles include scary Ghost,Snakes,Sharks and even Imposters from the game Among Us and much more.

Our original idea for our project was to make a cardboard maze and use play dough and crafts to make different obstacles for the Sphero. We soon found out that this would take up a lot of time and materials that we don’t have, instead we have drawn up a basic path for the Sphero to go through. We still will have obstacles like snakes, sharks and lava but we would have to draw them. I think our theme of the Indiana Jones type of thing still stands.

Each period we logged what we did.

Period 1

We spent that time planning and coming up with ideas for our project. That included the theme equipment and ect.

Period 2

We spent most of period 2 finishing up our planning and finding a large enough paper to start our sketching of our maze

Period 3 we finished off our sketch of our maze and started to clean up the lines and make it as straight as we can

Period 4

We used most of this period cleaning up our sketch and doing further research and ideas.

Period 5

For this period we then started to look at our obstacles that we are going to include. We looked at our maze and set out where every obstacle is going to take place and start to draw it out.

Period 6 - Now

We have now continued to finish off drawing our Spooky obstacles and coding the sphero through our maze.

With our project I think that we did pretty well, we were able to get most of our drawing done on the maze and some of the coding. Not gonna lie the coding was the hardest part for us but we started some of it. Next time I recommend we spend more time focusing on coding the sphero than drawing the maze up. But apart from that i feel like our project went well and we did pretty good.

Class Treaty Reflection

 Class Treaty Reflection:

This term in Social Studies we have been learning about the treaty of Waitangi and how it was important.
So we set out a mission for us as a class to make our own treaty and have rules that are fair for everyone involved. We first set off in 3 groups to make our own rules. After listing all the rules in our mini groups we then formed all together to agree on what rules we should make official on our treaty. At first it was a bit crazy and loud with everyone talking over each other so we had to make a plan. We came up with the idea of having a leader and 1 person from each group going over by them self and choice which rules to use or not. After the leaders were done they come over to the rest of the class to see if everyone agreed to the rules. I feel like making this treaty was hard at first but after making a plan it was really easy and i'm happy everyone agreed and was fine with the rules.

Music:

In music we are asked to film/preform something weither that be a song or a beat of even advertising something. Izzy and I are going to do a day in our life as a Hornby High student but by 2 point of views. We are going to try and basically advertise Hornby High and why it is a good school to go to. We are going to be filming all over Hornby and even go some of our younger year students involved by interviewing them and asking them a bunch of questions.

Science: Krakatoa Volcano

 Krakatoa

Where is it?

  • Rakata Island, Indonesia

When did it last erupt?

  • 2020, started in 1883

Damage it has done?

  • Krakatoa has done a lot of damage to the places and people around it.

  • In 1833 Krakatoa first erupted. Ash fell on Singapore, Cocos Island, and ships as far as 6067 km west-northwest. Darkness covered the Sunda Straits from 11 a.m on the 27th until the next day. At least 36,417 people were killed, most people died from giant sea waves, and coastal villages were destroyed. When the eruption ended, only ⅓ of Krakatau remained above sea level and new islands formed from the magma spewing out of the volcano

  • It had destroyed and formed lands while also causing havoc for residents and other countries.

How and when was it formed?

  • Since Krakatoa lies along the Indian-Australian and Eurasian tectonic plates its how it was formed. Because the two tectonic plates are dangerous at risk of high volcanic and seismic activity it's pretty common that one was made. It supposedly started/formed in 400 BC.

Interesting random facts?

  • the first eruption lasted one minute and 12 seconds

  • The 1883 eruption was the loudest sounds ever reported in the history

  •  Records held that 165 villages and towns surrounding Kratatoa were destroyed and 132 more were seriously damaged

  • Karatoa had killed 30.000+ people

  • in August 1883 was one of the most deadly  colacine eruptions in modern history, it is estimated that more than 36.00 people died. the eruption aslp affected the climate and caused temperature to drop over the world.

  • Karatoa belongs to the ring of fire

Pictures + Videos

Today we finally made our volcanoes erupt

How we made it to erupt:

15ml of warm water

25ml of hydrogen peroxide

2 spatulas of potassium iodine into the warm water and stir.

Hydrogen peroxide food coloring and soap into the bottle that sits inside the volcano.

Warm water and potassium iodine is then added with the Hydrogen peroxide and soap which is how elephant toothpaste is made.

Here's our video we got of our volcano erupting.

We do have a video of the eruption but we are still waiting for it to send. Technical difficulties.

Tangaroa:

Tangaroa: In Māori mythology, Tangaroa (also Takaroa) is one of the great gods, the god of the sea. He is a son of Rangi… | Mythological creatures, World mythology, Mythology

Tangaroa is the ‘God of the Sea” Maori, Polynesian people and their ancestors lived close to the sea and relied on it for food and other resources. Maori believe that water is an energy because of  its many different moods that change frequently. The sea has many different spiritual importances too for example the sea is where life started like fish. Fish then started to evolve into humans and amphibians “things that can live both on water and land”. Tangaroa is the son of Papatuanuku ‘The earth mother’ and Ranginui ‘The sky father’.  With some stories it is said that Tangaroa is husband to Papatuanuku and Rivil to Ranginui.

Music: Same Love performance - Lauren, Izzy and Kayla

 Same Love Performance:

What did we preform?

Lauren, Izzy and I did the song same love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
My rule was to play the first chorus on keyboard. Izzy did the start and ending while Lauren did the second chorus right after me.

How did the performance go?
I think it went pretty well considering that we had to quickly change up each rule.
And when I went into this I was expecting the worse and thought I wouldn't be able to learn all the cords.

What was challenging about this task?
A challenging part for me was learning how to play with black keys as well and white at the same time but I picked it up pretty fast and well.

What did you enjoy about this task?
I enjoyed being able to pick our own song, a song I like and learn it. I would rather be able to pick a song then being assigned one.

Our Performance

Know Your Place:

 Know Your Place:

In Social Studies we were asked to make a prezi answering questions that were about Christchurch and Canterbury. The reason for this was for us to one use a new app/thing to create and share our work which was prezi and two learn a bit more about Christchurch and Canterbury. I was sadly away for the first lesson so I started later hints why I did a lot less work than others in the class. I was able to answer 4 questions, I tried my best to make it look good and I tired to list as much information as I could.

My Prezi

Prezi

I learnt many different origins for south island city's, for example I learnt that Canterbury is named after the ecclesiastical mother. The most interesting thing I learnt/researched was Hornby High's history and how it started. I think next time I really could of used the app prezi more and add things like pictures and other cool things to make it look more appealing.

Character Paragraph: Ellie

 Character Paragraph: Ellie

One of the important moments for Ellie is When she returns home to a different world. After a camping trip in ‘Hell’ Ellie and her friends arrive back to empty homes. She is scared and confused by the fact that everyone is gone. She becomes distraught when she realises that her dogs have been attacked.  This is a key moment because Ellie realises that there might be a war on. The impact of this moment is the realisation that something very serious has taken place. This moment shows the reader that Ellie is understanding that something larger has begun. Ellie’s reaction makes the reader think about war and invasion and how we would react in similar circumstances. For instance a quote in the novel that shows Ellie has changed is “It was hard for me to believe that I, plain old Ellie, nothing special about me, middle of the road in every way, had probably just killed three people” pg 95. This shows Ellie has changed because she notices and reflects back to the old her. With this quote she is basically saying that the old her would never think about killing people but with the circumstances she is facing it's all about survival. All this information basically concludes that Ellie has changed a lot whether that be physically or mentally this also shows she is a very important character in the novel Tomorrow, when the war began.

Soft Materials:

Oeko-Tex® Cotton Jersey Light grey Melange - YES Fabrics  Jersey Cotton is a fabric made from fine gauge yarn that is very stretching which is needed because of what the fabric is used for.

Jersey cotton is made out of 95% cotton and 5% of this elastic stuff, an easy way to explain it is it's like a spandex material.

Zig Zag stitch is the main stitch that is used on stretchy material. The reason for that is because it’s a lot easier to sew and holds very well together.

Jersey cotton is normally made using stocking stitch but can also be made out of rib stitch or pattern that are knitted in.

With the process of making jersey cotton is usually made with a normal sewing or a weaving sewing machine because the fabric is to delicate and complex to hand stitch and/or sew.

Marshmallow Catapult Shooter:

Aim- To make a marshmallow shooter and work out what forces are acting on it.

Equipment:

  • paper cup
  • Scissors
  • Balloon
  • Marshmallow

Method:

Cut the bottom of the cup

Cut off the neck of the balloon

Stretch the open end of the balloon over the bottom of the cup.

Place marshmallow in the cup

Pull balloon back to the marshmallow

Discussion:
When the marshmallow was in the cup all the forces (Thrust,Friction,Gravity and Support) were even as it wasn't moving. Once we started to to add force to it friction was made for example we used the forced drag when pulling back the end of the balloon where the marshmallow was inside. Once we let go of the balloon and the marshmallow thrust and friction where made to make the marshmallow fly far distances. The force gravity and support where also used in this experiment because help drag the marshmallow to help slowing fall and drop to the ground.

Conclusion:
I felt like this little experiment was really fun and worked pretty well although next time I would probably use the top of the balloon instead of the top. But apart from that mine worked pretty well but the problem was I lost most of my marshmallows.

Close reading- chapter 12: Ellie

Ellie has been through a lot in the book Tomorrow, When the war began especially in chapter twelve.  In chapter 12 a lot of things happen but the main idea of this chapter is for the reader to understand that Ellie is a normal teenager and that what she has faced/been through is tough. In this chapter Ellie is really experiencing the PTSD of what has happened. She also felt guilt for everything she had done. With all the PTSD Ellie had been facing/experiencing have caused nightmares which in the novel is a clear hint of what she is scared of and been experimenting

Some quotes from chapter 12:

1. 'emotion denied is emotion deferred'

Agriculture Time line:

Agriculture Essay:

Agriculture Essay:

Farming today and in the 10,000BC are very different technology wise. Since then a lot of things have changed and has improved the way farmers produce food. Agriculture is a topic that is about the revolution of farming and how things have changed/improved throughout the years. Around 12000 years ago a lot of the equipment used was good but not as efficient like the old tools took more energy and effort than the machinery nowadays.

Machinery nowadays is completely different and more efficient than back in the day. People really don’t realise how lucky and well off we have it now with farming machinery. Back in 10,000BC you had to manually do things and it took a lot more effort. This matters because it’s crazy to think how much things have changed and how it has improved the world. Because if we didn’t have the advanced technology we have things would take longer and the amount of people being fed would decrease dramatically. For example in the U.S on famer is able to feed 155 people a day but back in around 1960s one famer could only feed 26. I could only imagine what it was like earlier than that, but it is a privilege and a blessing we have evolved and made farming better and more efficient.

A Plow or Plough depending on how you want to spell it is a tool that has been used for many many years. A plow is a tool/technology that helps turn and soften soil up ready for seeds to be planting. The evolution of the plow is quite impressive because the first and earliest plow was made out of digging sticks fashioned with handles for pushing and pulling dirt to soften. By roman times light wheeless plows with iron blades were made for the topsoil of the Mediterranean region but could not handle the heavier soil for other places/regions like the northwestern of europe. Around the 18th the addition of the moleboard which is a more advanced plow was made which you could already guess the impact that made to the farming industry. In the mid 19th the black prairie soil was really testing the strength and power of the original plow which made many think of making a more advanced one. American mechanic John Deere finally made the all steel moleboard, the new moleboard had a lot more advantages than the old one. The molebaord was a three wheeled plow that is powered by a gasoline engine. With this new piece of machinery/equipment it has made farming a lot better. The new advanced plow has made farming more productive and efficient than having to do it manually.

Now onto the sickle, the sickle is a tool that is used to harvest crops like corn and many other things. The sickle is one of the most ancient tools to exist and many still to this day use it. The many reasons for that is because it's more affordable but the only downside is that it takes a lot more effort and time to harvest. The sickle is a long sharp blade hooked fitted with a handle if it makes it any easier to imagine in your head it looks a lot like the reapers sword. The Sickle can go back to times that pre-date the Neolithic Era (18000-8000 BC). As years went on many different types of sickles were made with small adjustments to them like the change in what the sword/blade was made out of and the design of it. But in 1825 in Scotland an inventor reverend Patrick Bell’s design of the reaper machine. The reaper machine is still used to this day and is basically the same as a sickle but is a lot bigger and pushed by horses. By 1860 the combined machine was made exactly like the reaper machine but took a lot more power and effort to run which meant more horses were needed. As the years went on the combined machine was re-made with the same concept but built in a way that is more convenient and efficient. Around the 1980s electronics were put into the mix of the combined harvester which meant they could finally put an engine and make the machine a lot more powerful and efficient. As you could imagine when the first engine powered combined harvester was made a lot of people would have been happy and it would have helped the farming industry dramatically. It also would have made them a lot of money with the amount of crops they were planting and harvesting.

I would say it's pretty incredible with what we can accomplish now then what we could back in the day. I feel like we really take for granted what we have and that we should really look at things we have as a blessing. It's really cool to think about how technology can help and how it has impacted the world in many ways like farming ect.

Commercial Patterns: Sweatshirt

Soft Materials: Making A Hoodie

For soft Materials we were asked to choose out of three projects to do hoodie, pants and skirt. I choose to make a hoodie, so far I have measured my waist, hips and chest to see what size I am. Then I cut out all the commercial patterns to use for when I get my material. That's all I have been able to do but my next step will be sketching/tracing my commercial pattern pieces on my fabric/material and then cutting them out once that step is done I will finally be over locking each piece.

I have finally done cutting out each piece with the material I am using. I am now working on over locking each piece so the ends wont fray and it just makes it a lot cleaner. After that the next step is sewing everything together.

Tomorrow, when the war began questions:

Chapter 1

  1. What is first person narration?

It’s basically a story written through someone's eyes/point of view.

  1. What kind of story do you think Ellie is going to tell?

She's writting a fiction about going down to the creek and there is a pool there and it was waist high.

  1. What skills do these characters have that convince their parents that they can ‘go bush’ independently. Find 3 examples e.g Ellie tells Robyn's parents they have ‘independence and initiative’ p.11

Chapter 3
1. What kind of person is Kevin in chapter 3?

He seems to be very energetic and positive with the situation there all in, he also seems to be very open minded with everything.

2. Ellie says Fi in like an exoticbutterfly-P.33 Do you agree with Ellie, why/why not?

Yea, Because she seems to be quite not normal in a sense of her eating two minute noodles which Ellie has never seen that before and she is also quite bubbly and colorful.
Chapter 4

  1. Ellie claims that ‘Hell’ is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labelled places or things-pg 43. She then comes to the conclusion that ‘Hell was people’ pg43. Is she right? What’s your opinion, on labelling and Hell?

Yes I feel like no place is hell and if you think it is it's because you are not seeing the positive in it. As Ellie said half the time when people say a place is hell is because they are the one causing it to be that way. I feel like people should just give everything a chance so they are able to see the good in things.

  1. What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? ‘Their ------, their ------, their----- frightened me.’ Pg 38 Why do you think these frightened Ellie?

Because it was night time and the vibes/look of the place there at "Hell" is a very gloomy and dark place. Without the planes it was already scary. I also think it was frightening because at first Ellie could only hear a humming noise then all of a sudden a loud aircraft noise zoom by.

Chapter 5:
  1. What does Corrie’s want to do when she grows up? Pg 46

She wants to be a nurse and help out people in need.
Chapter 6:
  1. What is the first sign that something is wrong at Ellie’s house? Pg. 55

That the dogs were dead apart from Millie who was pretty much hanging by a thread.

  1. Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realisation that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic? Why/why not

I think yes because it is weird that once they come back everything is quiet and they found out two sets of parents are missing also with all the power and radio stations are down.

  1. Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders? Why?

Corrie because she has really helped out like nursing for the dogs, she has also made many good points on what could of happened and many great decisions.

  1. Why does the idea of a female soldier surprise Ellie? Pg 83

Maybe she was surprised because she doesn't see girl solders often and thinks its more a guys job.

  1. Ellie and Kevin’s quick-thinking allowed them to turn a ride-on lawnmower
into a bomb. Was this the right thing to do, why?

Yes because it allowed them time to get away and it helped distract the soldiers.

  1. Homer says, “This is war now, normal rules don’t apply.. They’re the ones who tore up the rule book, not us” Pg 97 Do you think Homer is right?

Yes because the war isn't a normal war they are going all in and are trying to kill off the population they also have no hesitation.

  1. What pieces of evidence from the book inform the reader that this invasion wasn’t entirely peaceful? Find at least 3 examples from pages 97-99

Chapter 9-12:

  1. Why, in Ellie’s  opinion, is Cobbler’s Bay and Wirrawee so important to the invaders?

To keep quiet and have a view/eye on the rest of the world.

  1. Corrie and Ellie reminisce about how innocent they were in high school and even a few days ago. Why were they still innocent then? Why are they no longer innocent?

So back in the day they use to be innocent but now in high school and stuff it has changed there whole perspective on things like now they think all about boys and want a relationship. But when they were younger they would not care about boys and used to play with dolls.

  1. By blowing up Corrie’s house, what does the invading force demonstrate to the teenagers?

Do take action and try their best to get everything they need quickly so that they can leave without anything else happening to them that could cause them harm.

  1. Describe the strategy Homer and Ellie use to ensure their safety when riding their bikes into town. What does this show about how they are starting to think?

To ride on the outskirts and be conscious of their surrounding. This means they are starting to think this is there new reality and everything that is happening is serious.

  1. How does Ellie feel as she is waiting in the truck at the Council Depot? Where do her emotions come from?

Fear because she loves her friends that much and doesn’t want to let them down or get the killed.

  1. Why is it so terrible that Chris falls asleep while on sentry duty? How does Ellie react? Why do you think she reacts this way? How does she feel about her reaction later?

Because he put all their lives at risk just because in Ellies words he was slacking off. Ellie begins to kick Chris as some kind of punishment and to also get him up. I think she reacted this way because she was full of pure tried and exhaustment, she also would of just been scared and annoyed because she had put all her effort and done so much work to get them where they are now. She feels guilty, scared at herself and feels like with all the violent actions she had been doing she had changed herself into a monster which she didn’t like at all.

Chapter 13-16

  1. All the teenagers have a specific role to play in their group. Describe the roles each teenager plays? In chapter 13 page 177 Kevin and Corrie are going to concentrate on the showground. Robyn and Chris are going to cruise around town look for people hiding and also for getting important information or even equipment. At the start of chapter 15 page 191 Lee is assigned doing paper work, But more importantly trying to find a way to ration the food for at least 2 months so they can survive. Home and Fi completed a task together and made a few veggie garden. Since lee is less mobile Lee is forced to do job that aren't too physical like cooking and cleaning up after dinner.
  1. According to what the teenagers hear on Corries radio, why would America be best not to get involved in Australia’s struggle? because they would be getting into the bloodiest, costliest and longest war in their life.
  2. Why is Australia being invaded? In my opinion it could be because Australia is such a wealthy country and may have it more well off than other country's so they could be jealous and think its unfair so they have come to the conclusion to just invade them because its supposedly unfair.
  3. What do Kevin and Robyn argue about? Do you think Robyn’s points are fair? They were fighting about the war and how the invaders have came in just to ruin and steal all the things their parents have been working for. Robyn does have a good a fair points in the argument because she stated how Kevin and her group have not been doing anything to stop it and are just sitting down doing nothing.

  1. “Paradise of Hell” is an oxymoron. What does it mean.
  2. Kevin’s hatred of the invaders is quite extreme. Why do you think he is so angry? Kevin is just angry and frustrated because of the invasion. Since of the invasion it has made Kevin's parents go missing so i'm pretty sure Kevin is just upset because of the invaders and how they are going around killing people and ruin others hard work.
  3. Despite the fact that the teenagers are in the midst of a war zone, evading enemy soldiers and planning guerrilla operations, they still find time to harbour romances. Do you think this is realistic?
  4. Briefly summarise the story of the Hermit from Hell. Do you believe he killed his family? Basically the story of hermit from hell is a man on Christmas Eve who shot two bullets and must of committed murder or is being framed for it. In the book Ellie says that no one can tell if he is an angel or a saint and she also said that she can't tell if what he did was a gift or not.

Chapter 17-20

Why does Ellie feel uncomfortable with Chris bringing cigarettes and alcohol into Hell? Because she felt like it wasn't an essential thing to pack.

What is meant by a “clean war”? Why are the invaders so intent on having a ‘clean war’? Clean war means like a war with no concentration camps or any torture stations. The reason why they want a clean war is so no other countries get involved like america and are trying to be smart about how the run the war.

What happened to the soldiers involved in the lawnmower incident, according to Robyn? How does this make Ellie feel? Two of the soldiers died, Ellie felt bad and guilty for the decisions she had made.

Why do you think prisoners are sent to clean up the houses around town? They want to make it clean so that they can use it for them self.

What makes Ellie think the soldiers walking past them are professionals? (Ch.19) They had smaller guns compared to the others solderers, they also walked in small group to be less suspicious.

What are some clues that the group is starting to think ‘more like soldiers’? When they started hiding through the shadows and being more sneaky.

Why is Ellie nervous about being paired with Fi? Were her concerns about Fi realised? Explain. She thought that Fi was more kind and didn't have the guts to actually hurt or harm anyone/anything.

What is true courage according to Ellie? Going into Wirrwee to get more resources and basically risking her life for her friends.

What problems do Fi and Ellie encounter on their mission to bring the tanker to the appropriate place under the bridge? How do they deal with these problems. Since the tanker had no brakes and patrol people where coming they had to think quickly and take action so they decided to climb up the tree and hide for the time being. After the patrol people left they then slowly pressed the gas and turned under the bridge after that they dumped the tanker and let it explode.

Chapter 21:

  1. How do Ellie and Fi feel as they are leaving the scene on their motorbikes? Are these realistic feelings? Happy and proud that they accomplished their mission, Yes because they were able to blow up the bridge and potentially save their country.

  2. Why do you think the group decided to blow up the bridge? Because it will help stop troopers coming and get resources. Since they decided to blow up something huge which was the tanker it would blow up a bigger area which is what they need to do to help prevent anyone else coming in.

  3. How is this exploit different from the other exploits the group has been on? This exploit thing helps benefit everyone in the group and country for what they have done it doesn't just benefit one or two of them it benefits all.

  4. How does Kevins decision to go with Corrie change our perspective of him from Chapter 3/7. He is more open and brave to do things now then he was before like he is less scared and more adventurous.

  5. What is Ellie’s concern about her story? She scared to write out her story and her friends getting mad at her about what she has wrote.

  6. What do you think will happen to Corrie and Kevin?  I feel like they will not really survive since corrie did get shot I feel like she may bleed out.
