Zookeeper:

Job Title: Zookeeper

Other names for this job: Animal Keeper

What do you do in this job?

Zookeeping involves a whole bunch of things just like cleaning after animals and more. Zookeeping is something that I would love to do because it's all about looking after and caring for animals. It's also about keeping the animals safe and healthy, with keeping them safe and healthy that means you are incharge of cleaning after them and also making sure you give them a good diet. With this job you are also required to feed the animals and have physical interaction with them.

Education and Experience:

With Zookeeping you don’t really need a lot of education for it the main thing you need is basically all sciences and/or knowledge about animals. With experience they do recommend to do some volunteer work at places like spca and other places so you know what you're getting yourself into. But it’s not necessarily needed but it's recommended.

Skills and qualities:

There are a lot of skills and qualities needed for being a zookeeper just like teamwork and other things. Here's just a few Leadership skills, organisation, interaction with people, willingness to learn, understanding animal behavior, Knowledge with animals and their needs, experience with basic grooming, Need to be fit and healthy enough since there is a lot of walking and physical movement required.

Income:
Annual salary: $50,000
Gross monthly income: 4166.6

Monthly deductions:
Income tax: 668.33
Kiwi Saver: $250

Hours of work: 37-40 Hours per week

What I found interesting:
I find zoo keeping interesting because I love the thought of looking after and caring for animals.

What I didn't realise about the job:
That some zoos allow the actual zookeeper to preform medical work on animals that need it.

The first step into getting the job:
Going on a course to be a zookeeper and also having some experience with animals like doing some volunteering work at spca and places like that.

Hunger Games Symbols:

Hunger Games Symbols:

What am I learning?
I am learning how to look at different symbols in scenes, also I am learning to explain what each symbol represents and why its important in the film/scene.

How does this work show my learning?
It shows my learning because I have put a image from a scene for each symbol and also added a explanation on why its important and so on.

What am I wondering as a result of this learning?
I am wondering if there are more symbols in scenes that I haven't already listed.

Matariki Vs Boxing day:

Matariki Vs Boxing day:

What went well and why?
What went well was searching up and gathering information because it was pretty easy to find and understand everything.

What didn't go so well and why?
I personally think the way I set out everything on my poster I feel like it could of been presented better if given more time.

If you were to do this again what would you do different and why?
Well I would set my poster out a bit better and plan where i'm putting everything before hand instead of just starting.

Challenge Chart: Hunger Games

Challenge Chart: Hunger Games

What am I learning?
To identify and understand plots and challenges in movies, to also understand reactions to the challenges a character faced.

How does this show my learning?
It shows my learning because I was able to layout my work in a way that anyone can understand. I also answered questions that were relevant to what i'm learning.

What am I wondering as a result of this learning?
If there are any other characters I have missed that may have a more important role in the movie that I haven't listed.
