Week 1 Grammar:

Many balls are given names which tell something about part of the game. From the clues, which words for ball sports can you find in the word search. 

1. You need to kick. A Soccer ball.
2. For goals, not for shopping. A Basketball 
3. Touch each of these for a run. A Baseball
4. Not for catching fish. A Netball. 
5. Use the open palm. Handball.
6. A ball which is not so hard. A Softball.    

Which of these sports are you're favorite? Write a few sentences telling why you like this sport.

Personally my favorite sport is  Football for many reasons. One of the reasons is because its one of them sports that any gender can play. Another reason is because the passion people have towards this sport is unbelievable. I personally like this sport more because you get to run around a lot which I like doing. 

Most summer sports need plenty of equipment. Complete these sentences using the same format as the first sentence. 

To play Tennis you need a Racket,Tennis Ball and a Tennis Net.

To go surfing you should have Swimming Togs,Surfboard,Fins and  a leash that attaches to the surfboard.

For softball you must need Uniform,Ball,Bat and gloves.

Table tennis players need ball,Rubber racket and a table with a net on it.

A statement is a sentence which tells a fact. In this sporting, asking questions or making exclamation. Color red those faces in the crowd who are making statements, blue those who are making exclamations and green those asking questions.

What a catch!
I wish I could do that.
Who was that?
I didn't think he'd catch it.
He tried to hit it too hard.
They are all out.
Silly shot!

Proverbs are sayings which are used to make a point about something. The trouble is,the following sports proverbs have been jumbled up. Un-jumble them to make them into statements.

1. Blames his cricketer a bad bat 
A bad cricketer blames his bat

2. A mile is good as a miss
A miss is good as a mile

3. You kick your goals don't count before them.
Your goals don't count before you kick them.

4. Blows nobody an ill wind any good that its.
